The top 4 electro music artists.
My first post was talking about the best music artists from my beautiful city - Poznan. Then, I mentioned that I do not listen to electronic music very often but I have to admit that I have those several music bands that are on the headline at my Spotify. All of those artists give me a special energy or are the best for the friday party. Some of these artists are more popular, some of them are just becoming famous but they all have thrilling voice and they create deep lyrics. Sometimes, they match to the special occasions better than anything else. This kind of sound maybe is not liked by everyone but it is always worth to try something new. That is why I created a list of 4 my favorite electro music artists!
#4 Grimes
Her real name is Claire Boucher and she is quite popular because of co-working with Lykke Li. She's only twenty eight years old but she has released five albums so far. She won Juno Award in the category Electronic Album of the Year for a Visions album in 2013.
To create her extraordinary sound she mixes a various styles on the keyboards, samplers and synthesizer. She claims that she got inspired with epic artists like Björk or Enya but also with K-Pop.
She gaves incredible live concerts with light lasers perfomances.
Grimes will perform on Open'er Festival this year.
#3 BOKKA
It is really difficult to say something more about BOKKA because they don't disclose their names, we don't know where they come from or how old they are but we know, that they come from Poland. The band is composed of thtree people: two men and one women called Y. At the concerts they are supported by two more musicians and because of that we are able to see a female vocalist, guitarist, bassist, drummer and keyboarder. They always perform behind a camouflage, they wearing a masks and matching suits that gives them an alien look.
Two albums has been released so far: Bokka and Don't kiss and tell.
BOKKA was nominated to Brand New Awards in 2013 and to Fryderyki in this year.
#2 Son Lux
Son Lux is a stage name for Ryan Lott, an American musician. Firstly, he was working for a comercial company creating jingles when he decided to devote to music career. The last album was created with help of the drummer Ian Chung and guitarist Rafiq Bhatia, who also appear during the concerts which are partly improvised. In the 2015 his song Lost it to trying became a part of soundtrack to the movie Paper Town.
Son Lux has released five albums and three EPs.
#1 MØ
MØ's real name is Karen Marie Ørsted and is one of the hottest and famous names in Denmark where she comes from. Her music career started to develop in a very fast way thanks to cooperation with Major Lazer and DJ Snake. The single Lean On hit the chart peaks, but in my opinion, Karen's solo career is much better than this party song. MØ released only one album called No Mythologies to Follow and it has received a lot of positive opinions from citics. She also performed during The 2015 Nobel Prize Concert and amazed everyone.
Ørsted won fifteen music awards, for example Danish Music Awards for The Best Danish Album and Årets Steppeulv Award for Album of the Year and Composer of the Year in 2015.
She got influenced by Sonic Youth and Nirvana.
She is one of the headliners on the Orange Warsaw Festival.
