Top 4 biographical films about musicians!

Hello everybody!
In toady's post I'm going to recommend you four biographical movies about music bands or particular artists. Problably, you know them, you might have seen them, but if not, you have to catch up!

#4 Control - Anton Corbijin (2007)
Movie talks about life and death of Ian Curtis - the vocalist and songwriter of Joy Division. Only black and white pictures take us to sad and dark reality of Curtis's life. The film shows the beginnings of the band, its bright years and the end.
Curtis is descibed as one of the most important musicians that has changed the music. Probably, it might have happened because of his huge vulnerability. His songs, they were more like poems.
I appreciate the movie because it talks about one of my favourite musicians even if, actually, Ian Curtis, played by Sam Riley, apperently, was not like that according to Peter Hook - the bassist of hte band.

#3 Ray - Taylor Hackford (2004)
I think that I don't have to introduce a legend Ray Charles - an amazing jazzman, creator of hit like Hit the Road Jack or I've Got a Woman.
This movie shows us very interesting life of Ray who went blind as a kid, decided to be an artist anyway, has changed the history of jazz and blues and was kind a party animal.
It lasts for 2 and a half an hour but it's good enough not to be bored, that's a one thing, the second, is the great role of Jamie Foxx. He really handle the responsibility of playing such a person.

#2 The Pianist - Roman Polański (2002)
You have to know this movie. It's in the cinema canon. It brought three Oscars to the creators: one to Adrien Brody for the best actor, one to Polanski for the best director and one for Ronald Hardwood for the best screenplay. The Pianist tells a dramtic story of Władysław Szpilman - a polish pianist whose calm life is distracted by the World War II. The thing happens in Warsaw.
The picture is heartbreaking and Adrien Brody's role is iconic. This movie has to be seen.

#1 Amadeus - Milos Forman (1984)
The oldest and the best. The movie of Forman approaches a life of Mozart by seen from the side of Antonio Salieri - his greates nemezis.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is one of the best recognisable classical musicians. His masterpieces are played all over the world after more than 200 years after his death.
This film showed me a completly different shade of Mozart who, because of his work, is considered as  serious and sad man. The truth is much different.
If you haven't already seen this movie, you ought to. Forman made his best to present this amazing person and the role of Tom Hulce is just incredible and very convincing.

  1. I love them all, despite Ray, because I didn't watch it yet . I regret that Tom Hucle didn't win the Oscar for his role, he was incredible as Amadeus!
